Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of 4 RNA species and about 80 distinct proteins.
RPL10A encodes a ribosomal protein of the 60S subunit, belonging to the L1P family, located in the cytoplasm.
Expression of this gene is downregulated in the thymus by cyclosporin-A and in neural precursor cells during development.
Previously known as NEDD6, it has been renamed RPL10A. Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
