Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD162, a 220 kDa type I integral membrane protein expressed as a disulfide-linked homodimer (sialomucin family).
CD162 is present on most peripheral blood T lymphocytes, monocytes, and granulocytes; it is also expressed on a subpopulation of B lymphocytes and CD34+ bone marrow cells.


Target Information

CD162 (PSGL-1) is a 120 kDa homodimer protein found on the surface of leukocytes and platelets.
It binds CD62P (P-selectin), CD62L (L-selectin), and to a lesser extent CD62E (E-selectin).
These interactions are critical for leukocyte adhesion, rolling, and extravasation.
CD162 serves as an important immune marker of T cell exhaustion in chronic viral infections and cancer.
