KLF-9은 Sp1 C2H2 타입 zinc finger 계열에 속하는 전사 인자로, 프로모터 내 GC box 요소에 결합합니다. 단일 GC box 결합 시 mRNA 발현을 억제하고, 반복된 GC box 결합 시 전사를 활성화합니다. KLF-9은 임신 중 및 종양 발생 과정에서 자궁 내막 세포의 증식, 부착, 분화를 조절하는 주요 전사 조절 인자로 작용합니다.
