Product Specific Information
The GK1.5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD4 molecule (55 kDa), a cell surface receptor expressed on most thymocytes, subsets of mature T cells, and dendritic cells. CD4 binds to MHC class II on antigen-presenting cells and is essential for T cell development and function. Binding of GK1.5 is blocked by RM4-5.

- Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume; 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
Brilliant Violet™ 605 (BV605) emits at 605 nm and is suitable for cytometers with a 405 nm violet laser. Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation sensitivity.
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.
Fixation: Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:
- IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49)
- 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54)
Brilliant Violet™ 605 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information
CD4 is a co-receptor for MHC class II molecules and HIV, primarily expressed on T helper cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It mediates T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and kinase Lck. CD4 expression is found in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and other tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts exist (RefSeq, July 2017).
