Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Adenine nucleotide translocator (ANT) and the voltage-dependent anion-selective channel proteins 1 and 2 (VDAC1 and VDAC2) are components of the permeability transition pore complex (PTPC) of the mitochondrial inner and outer membranes. Formation of PTPCs, dissipation of mitochondrial inner membrane potential, and release of cytochrome c are key events in early apoptosis. The proapoptotic protein Bax acts upon ANT to induce mitochondrial membrane potential loss. ANT1 plays a role in maintaining mitochondrial DNA by catalyzing ADP/ATP exchange across the mitochondrial inner membrane.
