RP-43132 contains native human von Willebrand Factor (vWF) protein.
It may be used as a positive control in various immunological assays.
The product is derived from human blood/plasma. Although the starting material was tested and found negative or nonreactive for anti-HIV-1/2, HIV-1 antigen(s), HBsAg, STS, anti-HCV, anti-HBcore, and anti-HTLV I & II, caution should be exercised when handling this material as all tests have a margin of error.
This product is for in vitro research use only and is not intended for clinical or diagnostic use.
Target Information
Von Willebrand factor (vWf) consists of self-aggregated structures derived from common glycoprotein subunits synthesized in endothelial cells and megakaryocytes.
The molecular mass of the monomeric vWf unit is approximately 225 kDa.
vWf binds to circulating factor VIIIc (antihemophilic factor), stabilizing it and playing an important role in primary haemostasis.
