Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene (PPM1G) is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases, known to negatively regulate cell stress response pathways.
This phosphatase dephosphorylates pre-mRNA splicing factors, essential for forming functional spliceosomes.
Mouse studies suggest a role in regulating cell cycle progression.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
