Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882) before use.
Target Information
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is a key cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation.
Ubiquitination involves three classes of enzymes:
- Ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s)
- Ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s)
- Ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s)
The UBE2J1 gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family.
This enzyme is located in the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum and may contribute to quality control and ER-associated degradation by the ubiquitin-proteasome system.
