MICALL2는 세포 부착 분자의 세포막 수송과 액틴 세포골격 재조직화를 조절하여 접합 복합체 형성에 관여하는 작은 Rab GTPase의 작용 인자입니다. Occludin, Claudin, E-cadherin 등의 내재성 재활용을 조절하여 Tight junction 및 Adherens junction의 형성에 영향을 미칩니다. 또한 F-actin, actinin, filamin과의 상호작용을 통해 세포골격 재구성에 직접 또는 간접적으로 기여할 수 있습니다. 주로 상피세포 분화, 세포 확산, 신경돌기 성장 과정에 관여합니다.
