Target Information
Apolipoprotein A4 (ApoA-IV) is a plasma protein and O-linked glycoprotein after proteolytic processing. It is a major constituent of HDL and can also be found on the surface of newly synthesized chylomicrons.
Although its physiological function is not completely defined, in vitro studies indicate that ApoA4 is involved in several steps of the reverse cholesterol transport pathway, which moves cholesterol from peripheral cells back to the liver.
