Product Specific Information
Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) plays a central role in vascular, renal, and myocardial physiology.
Unlike its homolog ACE, ACE2 expression is restricted to heart, kidney, and testis.
ACE2 also functions as a receptor for SARS coronavirus.
Its normal function is to convert angiotensin I (AngI) to Ang1-9 and AngII to Ang1-7, whereas ACE converts AngI to AngII.
Deficiency of ACE2 leads to reduced cardiac contractility, highlighting its importance in heart function regulation.
