Product Specific Information

The MU5UBEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and non-human primate CD185 (CXCR5, BLR1), a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor identified in Burkitt’s lymphoma.
In peripheral blood, CD185 is expressed on B cells and CD4+ T cells (not Th1/Th2), as well as CD45RO+ memory T cells. Tonsillar CD185+ cells co-express activation markers (CD69, ICOS) and promote antibody production when co-cultured with B cells.
CD185 plays a key role in lymphocyte trafficking, particularly T cell migration into B cell follicles of germinal centers in response to CXCL13, and serves as a marker for follicular helper T cells.
This antibody cross-reacts with Rhesus macaque.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
  • Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails/master mixes before combining with cells.
  • For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample.

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, based on nucleic acid dye structures engineered for optimized fluorescence with minimal spillover.

Target Information

CXCR5 (CD185), also known as Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1), is a G protein-coupled receptor for chemokine BLC.
It is expressed in Burkitt’s lymphoma and lymphatic tissues such as lymph node follicles and spleen. CXCR5 mediates B cell migration and is found in human blood, salivary gland, and various organs (brain, liver, spleen, tonsil, etc.).
CXCR5 belongs to the large family of GPCRs characterized by seven transmembrane helices. GPCRs regulate cellular signaling through G-proteins and downstream effectors, with significant pharmacological relevance.
Examples of GPCR-targeted drugs include Zyprexa (Eli Lilly) and Claritin (Schering-Plough).
