Product Specific Information

The MU5UBEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and non-human primate CD185 (CXCR5, also known as BLR1). CD185 is a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor originally identified in Burkitt’s lymphoma. It is expressed on B cells, CD4+ T cells (excluding Th1/Th2), and a subset of memory (CD45RO+) T cells.
In tonsils, CD185 is expressed on nearly all CD4+ cells with activation markers such as CD69 and ICOS, and plays a role in B cell help and antibody production. CD185 is a key marker of follicular helper T cells, mediating lymphocyte trafficking to germinal centers in response to CXCL13.
This antibody cross-reacts with Rhesus macaque.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in 100 µL total volume. Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., PI, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for compatibility.
• Always include CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) for optimal staining. Add 5 µL per sample prior to combining with cells.

Target Information

CXCR5 (CD185), also known as Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1), is a G protein-coupled receptor for chemokine BLC. It is expressed in Burkitt’s lymphoma, lymph nodes, spleen, and other lymphatic tissues. CXCR5 plays a critical role in B cell migration and lymphocyte trafficking. Expression is observed in human blood, salivary gland, and various tissues including brain, liver, and spleen.
CXCR5 belongs to the GPCR family, which mediates cell signaling through G-proteins. GPCRs are key drug targets, with well-known examples including Zyprexa and Claritin.
