Target Information
Hepatocyte nuclear factor 6 (HNF6) is a CUT homeobox family transcription factor containing both CUT and homeobox DNA-binding domains. It regulates genes implicated in maturity-onset diabetes of the young and acts as a ligand of the FOXM1 transcription factor network. HNF6, together with HNF4, controls gene expression in the liver. Expression levels of HNF6 and HNF4 increase during development, and their dysregulation can lead to premature or delayed expression of the g6pc gene.
