Target Information
CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1) is a 419 amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue. It functions as a pancreatic exopeptidase using zinc as a cofactor to catalyze the release of C-terminal amino acids from various proteins, playing a key role in protein digestion and degradation. CPA1 may also inhibit zymogen activation pathways. Abnormal CPA1 levels are linked to pancreatic cancer, suggesting roles in tumor progression or suppression.
