Target Information
CCR7 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family, within the chemokine receptor subfamily. It is induced by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and mediates EBV effects on B lymphocytes. CCR7 is expressed in blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes, and intestines, particularly in lymphoid tissues and activated B and T lymphocytes. It regulates migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues and stimulates dendritic cell maturation. The chemokine ligand CCL19 (ECL) is a specific ligand for this receptor. CCR7 and related C-C chemokine receptors (CCR1–CCR5) play key roles in T cell chemotaxis and phagocyte migration to inflammation sites.
