Target Information
The protein encoded by the CD37 gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily (tetraspanin family). These cell-surface proteins typically have four hydrophobic domains and mediate signal transduction events involved in cell development, activation, growth, and motility. CD37 is a cell surface glycoprotein that complexes with integrins and other tetraspanins, potentially playing a role in T-cell–B-cell interactions. Alternate splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
