This CD25-4E3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD25, also known as the low-affinity interleukin (IL)-2 receptor alpha.
CD25 is expressed on activated T cells (including regulatory T cells), B cells, and macrophages. It forms the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (γ chain), mediating lymphocyte proliferation and survival.
CD25 serves as a marker for Hodgkin’s disease and is linked to autoimmune diseases such as Type I diabetes.

CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the IL-2 receptor α chain, a cytokine receptor involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation.
The IL2 receptor complex (IL2RA, IL2RB, IL2RG) provides high-affinity binding for IL-2.
Homodimeric IL2RA chains yield low-affinity receptors, while IL2RB homodimers produce medium-affinity receptors.
IL2 expression in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, ensuring precise gene regulation.
IL2 functions as a growth and differentiation factor, promoting B-cell proliferation, NK cell activity, and inhibiting granulocyte macrophage colony formation.
Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency.
