Target Information
C-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK), also known as Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK8), is part of the MAPK superfamily of stress-activated protein kinases. These kinases are serine-threonine enzymes that respond to various extracellular stimuli and transmit signals from the cell surface to the nucleus.
JNK plays roles in cellular proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. It is activated by stress and inflammatory signals and expressed as ten isoforms due to mRNA splicing, with JNK1 and JNK2 being predominant.
