TCP-1 beta는 chaperonin containing TCP1 complex (CCT) 또는 TCP1 ring complex (TRiC)의 구성원으로, ATP 의존적 단백질 접힘을 담당하는 분자 샤페론입니다. 이 복합체는 두 개의 동일한 고리 구조로 이루어져 있으며, 각 고리는 8개의 서로 다른 단백질을 포함합니다. 미접힘 폴리펩타이드가 중심 공동으로 들어가 접힘 과정을 거치며, actin과 tubulin 등의 단백질을 접히게 합니다. TCP-1 beta 유전자의 전사적 스플라이스 변이형이 보고되었으나 아직 충분히 특성화되지 않았습니다. TCP-1 beta 단백질 기능 장애는 epididymo-orchitis와 관련된 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
