PHAP I는 세포 증식, 분화, caspase 의존 및 비의존성 세포사멸, 종양 억제, 단백질 인산화효소 2A 억제, ELAVL1과의 mRNA 수송 및 안정성 조절, INHAT 복합체를 통한 acetyltransferase 억제 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 E4F1 매개 전사 억제에 역할을 합니다.
