Target Information

Glutathione S-transferase M3 (GSTM3) is an enzyme encoded by the GSTM3 gene. It belongs to the mu class of glutathione S-transferases involved in detoxification of electrophilic compounds such as carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, and oxidative stress products through conjugation with glutathione.
The mu class genes are located on chromosome 1p13.3 and exhibit high polymorphism, influencing individual susceptibility to toxins and drug efficacy. Mutations in this gene have been associated with increased cancer risk due to environmental toxin exposure.
