Product Specific Information

Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Glutathione S-transferase M3 (GSTM3) is an enzyme encoded by the GSTM3 gene in humans. It belongs to the mu class of glutathione S-transferases, which detoxify electrophilic compounds such as carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, environmental toxins, and oxidative stress products through conjugation with glutathione.
The mu class genes are organized in a cluster on chromosome 1p13.3 and are highly polymorphic, influencing individual susceptibility to toxins and drug efficacy. Mutations in this class have been associated with a slight increase in certain cancers due to environmental toxin exposure.
