Product Specific Information

The 104 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD45 molecule (leukocyte common antigen, LCA) in CD45.2-expressing mouse strains such as C57BL/6, BALB/c, C58, DBA/1, DBA/2, C3H/He, CBA, 129, A, and AKR. CD45.2 is expressed by all leukocytes in these strains.

Target Information

CD45.2 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of surface proteins in lymphocytes. It plays a critical role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases.
CD45.2 exists as multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. These isoforms vary by cell type and physiological state, influencing membrane localization and signaling.
Additionally, CD45.2 modulates integrin-mediated signal transduction for cell survival and participates in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis. CD45RA is one isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
