Product Specific Information

This 201A monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD303a (CLEC4C or BDCA-2), a type II transmembrane protein expressed almost exclusively on plasmacytoid dendritic cells. These cells secrete type I interferon during antiviral and antitumor responses. CD303a binds asialo-galactosyl-oligosaccharides on pathogens, activating signaling pathways that lead to internalization and downregulation of interferon production.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10^5–10^8 cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited with the blue laser (488 nm). Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and stained samples from light; tandem dye sensitive to photo-induced oxidation.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the C-type lectin/C-type lectin-like domain superfamily, involved in cell adhesion, signaling, glycoprotein turnover, inflammation, and immune response. It is a type II transmembrane protein associated with dendritic cell function. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
