Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Zyxin is involved in focal adhesions, actin-rich structures that enable cells to adhere to the extracellular matrix and serve as sites for signal transduction complexes. It is a zinc-binding phosphoprotein concentrated at focal adhesions and along the actin cytoskeleton. Zyxin features an N-terminal proline-rich domain and three LIM domains in its C-terminal half. The proline-rich domain interacts with SH3-containing proteins, while LIM domains mediate protein-protein binding. Zyxin may act as a messenger in adhesion-stimulated signal transduction and modulate actin bundle organization. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
