Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The SCN4B protein modulates channel gating kinetics, causing negative shifts in the voltage dependence of activation of certain alpha sodium channels, but not affecting inactivation.
Highly expressed in dorsal root ganglia, and at lower levels in brain, spinal cord, skeletal muscle, and heart.
Defects in SCN4B are associated with long QT syndrome type 10 (LQT10) [MIM:611819], a disorder characterized by prolonged QT intervals and polymorphic ventricular arrhythmias, leading to syncope or sudden death during exercise or emotional stress.
May present as sudden cardiac death in infancy.
