Product Specific Information
- Does not cross-react with recombinant human Trypsin 1 or Trypsin 3.
- Recognizes both pro and mature forms of recombinant human Trypsin 2.

Target Information
Trypsin 2 belongs to the trypsin family of serine proteases and encodes anionic trypsinogen. It is part of a cluster of trypsinogen genes located within the T cell receptor beta locus. These enzymes cleave peptide bonds following lysine or arginine residues.
This protein is abundant in pancreatic juice and is upregulated in pancreatitis. It can activate pro-urokinase in ovarian tumors, suggesting a role in tumor invasion. Additionally, Trypsin 2 can cleave across the type II collagen triple helix in rheumatoid arthritis synovitis tissue, potentially contributing to cartilage matrix degradation.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
