Target Information
Collagen III is a fibrillar collagen found in extensible connective tissues such as skin, lung, and the vascular system, often associated with type I Collagen. Mutations in this gene are linked to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV and aortic or arterial aneurysms. Although alternate transcripts have been detected, they result from mutations affecting splicing, often leading to exon exclusion.
