Target Information

Calreticulin (Calr) is a calcium-binding chaperone that promotes folding, oligomeric assembly, and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) through the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. Calr, a lectin, transiently interacts with monoglucosylated glycoproteins synthesized in the ER. It also interacts with the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1 to mediate nuclear export and may play a role in maternal gene expression regulation and oocyte maturation via calcium homeostasis regulation.
