Target Information
Prefoldin 5 (PFDN5) binds specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. It binds nascent polypeptide chains and promotes proper folding amid competing pathways for nonnative proteins. Additionally, it represses the transcriptional activity of MYC.
