Integrin, collagen, 면역, G-단백질 결합, cytokine, chemokine, 성장인자 수용체 등 다양한 수용체의 하위 신호 전달에 관여하며, 세포 스트레스 반응을 매개합니다.
비정상적인 FAK2 발현은 암세포의 증식, 이동, 침윤 및 전이에 영향을 줄 수 있으며, glioma, 간세포암, 폐암, 유방암 등에서 발현 증가가 보고되었습니다.
