CEACAM1은 carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, immunoglobulin superfamily에 속하는 단백질입니다.
이 단백질은 세포 간 부착을 매개하며, 백혈구, 상피세포, 내피세포 등에서 발현됩니다.
조직 구조의 분화 및 배열, 혈관신생, 세포자멸사, 종양 억제, 전이, 면역 반응 조절 등 다양한 세포 활동에 관여합니다.
다양한 전사 변이체가 보고되었으며, 그 중 두 가지의 full-length 형태가 밝혀져 있습니다.
