Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
This gene encodes class I alcohol dehydrogenase, gamma subunit (ADH1C), a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family. These enzymes metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products.
Class I alcohol dehydrogenase consists of several homo- and heterodimers of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits, exhibiting high activity for ethanol oxidation and playing a major role in ethanol catabolism.
Three genes encoding the alpha, beta, and gamma subunits are tandemly organized in a genomic cluster.
