Target Information
WFDC5는 산성 안정 단백질분해효소 억제제(putative acid-stable proteinase inhibitor)로 알려져 있습니다. 이 유전자는 WAP-type four-disulfide core (WFDC) 도메인 패밀리에 속하며, 대부분의 WFDC 단백질이 하나의 WFDC 도메인을 가지는 반면, WFDC5는 두 개의 WFDC 도메인을 포함합니다. WFDC 도메인은 8개의 시스테인이 4개의 이황화 결합을 형성하여 단백질의 중심을 이루며, 단백질분해효소 억제 기능을 수행합니다. 대부분의 WFDC 유전자는 염색체 20q12–q13 영역에 존재하며, centromeric cluster에 속합니다.
