Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
KRT16 is a member of the keratin gene family. Keratins are intermediate filament proteins that maintain epithelial cell structural integrity. Type I cytokeratins are acidic proteins arranged in heterotypic pairs, clustered on chromosome 17q12-q21.
KRT16 is coexpressed with keratin 14 in epithelial tissues such as esophagus, tongue, and hair follicles.
Mutations in KRT16 are associated with:
- Type 1 pachyonychia congenita
- Non-epidermolytic palmoplantar keratoderma
- Unilateral palmoplantar verrucous nevus
