Target Information

MAP3K7 (TAK1) regulates transcription and apoptosis and is implicated in inflammatory diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. Fusion with MAP3K7IP1 (TAB1) activates MAP3K7. TAK1, originally identified as a TGF-β-activated kinase, interacts with TGF-β receptor and TRAF6 to modulate activation of JNK and p38. It also participates in p38 and JNK activation through Wnt, BMP, and activin signaling, as well as in response to thyroid hormone, osmotic stress, endothelin, and ephrine. TAB1 regulates MAP3K7/TAK1 and mediates signaling pathways induced by TGF-β, interleukin 1, and WNT-1.
