Target Information
SLPI (Secretory Leukocyte Protease Inhibitor) is a secreted inhibitor that protects epithelial tissues from serine proteases. It is present in seminal plasma, cervical mucus, and bronchial secretions, with affinity for trypsin, leukocyte elastase, and cathepsin G. SLPI contributes to immune defense by preventing damage from endogenous proteolytic enzymes and may also exhibit broad-spectrum antibiotic activity.
