Target Information
Peroxisomal membrane에는 여러 ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter인 ABCD1–4가 존재합니다. 이들은 ABC half-transporter로서 이합체를 형성하여 활성 운반체로 작용합니다.
ABCD1 유전자의 돌연변이는 지방 저장에 영향을 미치는 peroxisomal 질환인 X-linked adreno-leukodystrophy (X-ALD)를 유발합니다.
ABCD2는 뇌와 부신에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며, ABCD3은 비정상 형태의 peroxisome 전구체와 관련되어 있습니다. ABCD1은 peroxisome에 국소화되어 있으며, ABCB7은 미토콘드리아에서 세포질로 heme을 운반하는 half-transporter입니다.
