This antibody detects endogenous levels of total VPS4B protein.
Target Information
The VPS4B gene encodes a member of the AAA protein family (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) and is homologous to yeast Vps4 protein. In humans, two paralogs have been identified, both sharing high sequence similarity with yeast Vps4 and mouse Skd1 proteins. Functional studies show that human paralogs associate with endosomal compartments and are involved in intracellular protein trafficking, similar to yeast Vps4. The VPS4B gene is mapped to chromosome 18, while its paralog resides on chromosome 16.
