Product Specific Information

The RM2-5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD2 molecule (approx. 50–55 kDa), a cell surface receptor expressed by all mouse lymphocytes. In mice, CD2 is expressed on B lineage cells from the pre-B stage to mature B cells and serves as a ligand for CD48, playing roles in T-cell adhesion and activation.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes and bone marrow cells at ≤ 0.2 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody titration is recommended.

Each product includes:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Recommended viability dyes: Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains.
• Use CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) for optimal staining.
  • Add 5 µL per sample, or per 100 µL of cell sample for single-color controls.
  • Add buffer to antibody cocktails before mixing with cells.

Target Information

CD2 (LFA-2) is a monomeric surface antigen (45–58 kDa) expressed on human T lymphocytes and some NK cells, but not on B cells. It mediates cell adhesion via interaction with CD58 and plays a role in T-cell activation. CD2 deficiency is linked to immune dysfunction and certain carcinomas.
