This antibody has specificity for Human STK4/MST1.

Target Information

STK4 (MST1) is a serine/threonine kinase potentially involved in apoptosis. It may induce chromatin condensation during this process. STK4 is a stress-activated, pro-apoptotic kinase that, upon caspase cleavage, enters the nucleus to trigger chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation.
It is a key component of the Hippo signaling pathway, crucial for organ size control and tumor suppression by limiting proliferation and promoting apoptosis. The pathway involves a kinase cascade where STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1, with SAV1, activate LATS1/2 (with MOB1), which then phosphorylates and inactivates YAP1 and WWTR1/TAZ.
Phosphorylation of YAP1 by LATS2 prevents its nuclear translocation, regulating genes involved in cell proliferation, death, and migration. STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1 are essential for repressing hepatocyte proliferation, preventing activation of oval cells, and inhibiting tumor formation.
