• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
• For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-ARGINASE is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis.
Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified Arginase (Bovine Liver). Cross-reactivity with other species or tissues has not been determined.

Target Information

Arginase-1 (Arg1) is a 35 kDa enzyme that converts L-arginine to urea and L-ornithine, completing the urea cycle. The resulting polyamines are essential for cell proliferation and detoxification.
By degrading arginine, Arginase 1 reduces nitric oxide production by depriving NO synthase of its substrate.
Arginase 1 is expressed in liver, neutrophils, myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs), and neural stem cells.
In mice, it marks alternatively activated macrophages (M2a).
It is commonly found in hepatocellular carcinomas, and defects in Arginase 1 cause argininemia, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by hyperammonemia.
