Mouse anti-Bovine CD25 antibody, clone IL-A111 recognizes the bovine CD25 cell surface antigen, an approximately 55 kDa glycoprotein also known as Interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain.
Reconstitute with 1 mL distilled water.
Target Information
CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain, IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation. The IL2RA forms a heterotrimeric complex with IL2RB and IL2RG to create the high-affinity IL2 receptor.
Homodimeric IL2RA chains produce low-affinity receptors, while IL2RB homodimers yield medium affinity.
IL2 is mainly produced by mature T cells and acts as a growth, differentiation, and cell death regulator. It stimulates B cell proliferation, enhances NK cell activity, and inhibits granulocyte macrophage colony formation.
Disruption of the IL2RA gene in mice results in ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its role in immune response regulation.
Mutations in this gene are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency.
