Chromogranin A (CHGA)는 신경내분비 분비 단백질인 chromogranin/secretogranin 계열의 구성원입니다. 이는 뉴런과 내분비 세포의 분비 소포에서 발견되며, vasostatin, pancreastatin, parastatin 세 가지 생리활성 펩타이드의 전구체로 작용합니다. 이러한 펩타이드는 신경내분비계의 자가 또는 측분비 음성 조절 인자로 작용합니다.
CHGA는 카르시노이드 종양, 갈색세포종, 부신경절종 및 기타 신경내분비 종양의 우수한 마커로 알려져 있습니다. Chromogranin A와 neuron specific enolase (NSE)의 공발현은 신경내분비 종양에서 흔히 관찰됩니다.
