This antibody detects endogenous Calumenin protein at approximately 45 kDa, although the predicted molecular weight is 37 kDa.
Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Calumenin is a 315 amino acid calcium-binding member of the CREC EF-hand protein family. It is a secreted protein located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and Golgi apparatus.
Calumenin contains six Ca²⁺-binding (EF-hand) motifs and interacts with serum amyloid P component (SAP) in the presence of calcium. Together, they may play roles in immunological defense and amyloidosis.
Calumenin inhibits the vitamin K-dependent γ-carboxylation system, potentially affecting thrombosis and wound healing through autocrine or paracrine mechanisms.
