For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step.
Recommended desalting method: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT4 was identified using degenerate primers targeting conserved STAT protein regions. It shares similarity with STAT1 (52%) and STAT3 (47%). STAT4 can be phosphorylated by Jak1 or Jak2, forming homo- and heterodimers with other STATs. Tyrosine-phosphorylated STAT4 binds IFN-gamma activated sites (GAS), and serine phosphorylation enhances transcriptional activity.

STAT4 expression is mainly in thymus, spleen, and testis. It is activated by interleukin 12 (IL-12), which induces IFN-gamma production and Th1 response development essential for defense against intracellular pathogens. STAT4-deficient mice show impaired Th1 and enhanced Th2 development. STAT4 activation by IFN-a/b is also required for IFN-g production during viral infection.
