Product Specific Information
Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:
- Human, Gorilla, Monkey, Bat, Panda: 100%
- Gibbon, Dog, Bovine: 94%
- Hamster, Elephant: 89%

For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
Target Information
MST1R (RON) is a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in cell proliferation and motility. The protein is a membrane-spanning, disulfide-linked heterodimer resulting from cleavage of a glycosylated precursor into 35-kDa (alpha) and 150-kDa (beta) subunits. Ligand binding induces tyrosine phosphorylation of the beta chain.
In knockout studies, MST1R/RON (-/-) mice did not survive past the periimplantation period. The MST1R/RON gene is mapped to 3p21, a region frequently deleted or mutated in small cell lung and renal carcinoma, and is implicated in the progression of several epithelial cancers.
MST1R/RON expression has been documented in many normal human tissues. ESTs have been isolated from several tissue libraries, including normal colon, mouth, prostate, and testis, as well as cancerous colon, prostate, stomach, and uterus.
