Target Information

MAPK13 (p38 delta) is a serine/threonine kinase that transduces extracellular signals related to cytokine and environmental stress responses. It regulates keratinocyte differentiation and is activated by stress and proinflammatory cytokines through phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases or autophosphorylation via MAP3K7IP1/TAB1 interaction. Substrates include ATF2, MEF2C, MAX, CDC25B, and p53, indicating roles in stress-related transcription, cell cycle regulation, and genotoxic stress response. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
