Target Information

MAPK12 (p38 gamma) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes. It is activated during hypoxia and gamma-irradiation-induced G(2) arrest. Activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase family members is a key mechanism for extracellular signal transduction. Stress-activated protein kinases form a subclass of MAP kinases. MAPK12 acts as a signal transducer during differentiation of myoblasts to myotubes.
